We have set our sights yet again on supporting our beloved local wine industry, this time by launching a brand new platform to showcase, network & connect.
As South Australians, we know how fortunate we are to have such a thriving wine industry that is recognised around the world. However, it’s no secret the last couple of years have been difficult for wine producers.
First, there was the crop damage caused by the 2019 bushfires, then came the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, causing travel restrictions and bringing the tourism industry to a halt. In 2021, wine producers have continued to suffer from ongoing continuing trade disputes with major export partners.
The wine industry is crucial to the economic and social makeup of our festival state, and local networking organisation Showcase SA is doing its bit to help out. The business is hosting an epic tasting event to highlight the quality of the state’s wine industry, and prove why 2021 really is ‘The Year of South Australian Wine.’
Guests are invited to taste over 200 wines from over 50 different local wineries at the National Wine Centre of Australia, during Showcase SA’s two-day Support SA Wine Expo.
Taking place next month, the Expo comprises two primary events, a day for the public to enjoy the wines on offer, and a day for professionals to network.
The general public event, slated for Sunday May 16, is the perfect opportunity for punters to have a fun day out whilst connecting with 50 wineries, all without leaving the CBD.
The corporate industry event, set for Monday 17 May, is for business owners or hospitality professionals looking to establish new relationships and grow their network in the local wine industry.
