In 2019, Steve Testar saw an opening to deliver crucial work: supporting, connecting and showcasing South Australian businesses. And so Showcase SA was born. Steve's passion for local business and his strong network of South Australian professionals has driven Showcase SA to where it is today.
In 2000, Steve booked a one-way ticket from England to Australia, choosing Adelaide as home. Over twelve years in property development he ran some of the biggest projects in the state, delivering thousands of dwellings, affordable homes, shopping centres, ovals, parklands and entire suburbs. In 2016 he launched Realis Property, which provided the support mechanism for Showcase SA's launch.
As a fiercely independent, proudly locally owned and operated small business, we understand the challenges faced across the South Australian business community, because we face them too.
Steve Testar and Kelly Noble, SA4SA Bushfire Appeal Gala
When bushfires ravaged the Adelaide Hills in late 2019, Steve and Glam Adelaide CEO Kelly Noble put the SA4SA Bushfire Appeal Gala into motion within days. Using Showcase SA's business network and Glam Adelaide's readership, they rallied dozens of generous businesses and hundreds of volunteers.
1,400 gala tickets sold in a single week, making it the largest indoor event in South Australia that year. In total, $381,340 went directly to South Australian families and businesses affected by the fires.
On Australia Day 2021, Steve and Kelly were awarded the City of Adelaide Community Event of the Year for the gala.
