On this special day, the community is encouraged to come together to celebrate and honour the incredible impact that Guide and Assistance Dogs have on people’s lives.
Through a multi-faceted promotional campaign, Guide Dogs will be celebrated far and wide – from taking over billboards and digital channels to iconic Adelaide landmarks lighting up in ‘Guide Dogs orange’.
One impactful, tangible and fun way that your organisation can get involved is through purchasing a Guide Dogs Day Fundraising Pack – the pack that gives back.
The exclusive Fundraising Pack features a display box filled with Guide Dogs merchandise to sell throughout April. It includes Pup Socks, Mini Plush Dogs, Fun Fridge Magnets, Pawprint Charms and Shoe Charms. The box is perfectly sized for front counters or lunchrooms.
Last year, the community dug deep for Guide Dogs Day with 1,018 individuals and businesses raising an incredible $250,000. This year, Guide Dogs is setting the bar even higher, aiming for $350,000!
Every dollar raised will help Guide Dogs SA/NT train adorable Labrador puppies to become highly skilled Guide and Assistance Dogs. For over 65 years, Guide Dogs SA/NT has enabled a lifetime of independence, participation, inclusion and wellbeing for people with low vision. or blindness or specialised support needs.
Guide Dogs SA/NT Client, Emily, shares how her life changed after recently being matched with Guide Dog Tanner.
“Tanner is all I have ever wanted and so much more. Not only does he help me navigate, but he makes me feel safe when I am travelling somewhere alone as a women with a disability. He is simultaneously my best friend, my baby, and the live of my life. I can’t imagine my life without him.”
