Fresh 92.7 Shakes Up Airwaves: New Faces and Fresh Perspectives for 2024

Adelaide’s #1 community radio station, Fresh 92.7 has kicked off 2024 with a bang, for the first time ever, cracking 212,000 weekly listeners and unveiling fresh changes to their weekly line-up.

Fresh 92.7 has experienced a remarkable 12,000 increase in overall weekly listenership, reaching an impressive 211,000 weekly listeners. The Toal Survey Listening (TSL) has also seen a boost, now standing at an average of 9.5 hours per week. Specifically, the Drive show has surged by 7,000 listeners, while the Workday segment has witnessed an impressive spike of 13,000 listeners. These outstanding results position Fresh 92.7 as a dynamic force in Adelaide’s radio landscape, capturing the attention and loyalty of a diverse and growing audience.

In addition to its survey success, Fresh 92.7 has announced a significant revamp of its flagship shows. ‘Davo, Tom & Callum,’ the Breakfast show that has become a staple for many listeners, bids farewell to Lauren ‘Davo’ Davidson, one of Fresh’s beloved radio personalities. Davidson embarks on a new journey in Darwin at Hot100, marking the end of her time with Fresh 92.7 at the close of January.

The Adelaide-based duo ‘Tom & Callum’, have embarked on many on-air adventures across their time at Fresh. Launching their new Breakfast show ‘Tom & Callum’ on January 22nd, the duo expresses their enthusiasm for the new chapter. Tom Holmes shares, “I’m really excited to see what level we can take this new Brekkie show. The chemistry between us, the mates we’ve made with our listeners, and the strange different perspective we seem to put on trivial tasks makes this show a dangerous combination of fun, fear, and plenty of laughs!”

Callum Leaney adds, “We’ve had heaps of awesome opportunities at Fresh, from interviews with musicians we love, to being able to host parties like the Top 92 Countdown. We can’t wait to get out and about even more this year in the community, meeting people who love having a laugh like we do.”

The Drive home show is set for a transformation, evolving into a dynamic duo as Drive announcer Cale Porter teams up with news reader and producer, Maggie Felton. This collaboration promises to bring a fresh and entertaining perspective to the Drive home experience in 2024.

Cale Porter, with 20 years of radio experience, expresses his excitement about the upcoming change, saying, “After 20 years in radio I’ve never actually done a duo show, ever! This is something I’ve wanted for a while, and cannot wait to shift the show in this direction. Maggie is like the sister I never had. She’s a genuine chick with an infectious vibe, which we’re all going to feed off! We’ve got so many exciting things planned for 2024!”

Maggie Felton’s inclusion in the Drive show was an unexpected but delightful development, according to Content Director Sophie Campbell. Campbell says, “Her quick wit, relatability, and ability to pull Cale into line brought a new sound to our Fresh lineup. Everyone wants to be Mags’ friend, and we can’t wait for Adelaide to get to know her and love her as much as we do!”

The revamped Drive show, ‘Cale & Mags,’ is set to launch on February 5th 2024, promising a more local, outrageous, and amusing experience than ever before.
