As the news of a COVID-19 cluster in Adelaide’s northern suburbs continues to emerge, Showcase SA member Clinpath has activated and continues to operate a number of testing locations in support of SA Health’s COVID-19 management and prevention activities.
In a statement released on Monday afternoon, Clinpath confirmed that it would offer COVID-Only ‘PCR testing’ at the dedicated drive-through testing stations operating across the metropolitan area.
Any member of the public can receive a COVID-only test at these stations without a referral from a general practitioner.
“With multiple new COVID cases identified over the weekend, it is critical that Clinpath Pathology work with SA Health and all other pathology providers to provide patients with timely access to this test,” said Brooke Kenny, Clinpath Executive Pre Analytics.
“As usual, any negative COVID test results will be sent via SMS to the patient if consent is given. Any positive COVID results will be reported to the CDB (Communicable Disease Branch) and any referring doctors.
“Patients can attend any one of our six COVID 19 Collection Stations or can access our mobile COVID testing services by calling the COVID hotline on 1800 870 778.
“Clinpath Pathology also continue to welcome deaf or those who are hard of hearing to use our COVID-19 Auslan Service on Tuesday and Thursday.”

Clinpath has issued the following update:
“Due to an overwhelming response yesterday, our sites at Mile End, Elizabeth and Blair Athol are fully booked today. Firle is also currently at capacity. We encourage you to try our drive through location at Port Adelaide in Gracechurch Street or at Huntfield Heights in Honeypot Road, if you are coming from the South. You can receive a COVID-only test at these stations without a referral from your doctor.”
