OPERATION FLINDERS FOUNDATION

GROUP MENTOR PROGRAM

About Operation Flinders Foundation

Operation Flinders Foundation provides young men and women who have been identified as being at risk, with demanding outdoor challenges and support, to help them develop their personal attitudes and values of self-esteem, motivation, team work and responsibility so they may grow as valued members of the community.

The Foundation works with young people from the age of 13 – 18 who have been identified as ‘at risk’. The 8-day program is held in the northern Flinders Ranges where young people trek up to 100km, experience abseiling, Indigenous culture, bushcraft and build self-confidence through challenging themselves.

These young people come from all across South Australia and are typically referred to us as part of a team of 10 from one school or agency.

Once the young person completes an Exercise, they are invited to join the Peer Group Mentor Program. This program opens them up to a world of opportunity and growth!
