On 24 June 2020, Showcase SA held an Industry Briefing on Heath. Our platinum & gold members heard from Dr Fergus Whitehead, the Chief Executive Officer of Clinpath Pathology, Professor Nicola Spurrier, the Chief Public Health Officer of SA Health and Chloe Kempe, the General Manager for Business Development & Culture at SACARE as they addressed the implications for the Health industry during COVID-19 as well as current initiatives & opportunities available within the Health sector in our state.
Some key takeaways from the Industry Briefing for Health today:
Clinpath Pathology are an independent organisation that supports the Health industry on multiple fronts. Their state of the art Mile End facility doubled in size in a matter of weeks to accommodate their COVID-19 testing laboratory.
Now is not the time to get complacent with social distancing. As restrictions ease further for South Australia, SA Health are ensuring there are sufficient contact tracing measures in place such as testing available at the airport as inbound flights increase.
With the Aged Care & Disability sector being one of the biggest in South Australia, SACARE highlighted the opportunities for the hospitality industry in particular to upskill.
