Showcase SA member SAGE Automation has won the Business and Industry Solution category at the 2020 Australian Information Industry Association Awards (iAwards) for SA & NT.

‘Matilda’, the smart transit hub developed by SAGE, was recognised for its ability to deliver seamless passenger experience, including by improving accessibility for passengers with mobility, vision, hearing or cognitive impairments.

“SAGE is very proud to win the SA/NT iAward Business and Industry Solution category and excited to represent SA/NT at the national awards in November,” said SAGE Automation’s general manager for transport, Damian Hewitt.

“Showcasing an accessible solution like Matilda in a national forum provides a fantastic opportunity to put disability and aged care support needs at the forefront of transport planning and development.”

To realise the Matilda Smart Transit Hub, SAGE collaborated with the state government’s Future Mobility Lab Fund, IBM Watson, Sonnex Engineering, KinTrans and Security and Technology Services, as well as the Royal Society for the Blind to improve how the facility caters for people who are blind or vision impaired.

Having won its category at the SA & NT iAwards, Matilda will compete against other regional winners at the National iAwards, to be announced on November 17.
