Saab Australia has been providing high-technology military systems to the Australian Defence organisation since 1988. Our primary business is the development, integration, production and support of advanced operational systems, mainly for Defence, but also civil secuirty applications. Our core capabilities in engineering, through life-support, integration, innovation and project management deliver services to customers across the naval, air, land and security domains. 

Most notably, we’ve provided the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) with its own world-class naval combat management system (CMS). Interoperable with allies, but sovereign-built, adapted and supported on Australian soil, the Saab 9LVCMS is cutting-edge technology that Defence can expand as needed to meet emerging threats. 

The skills and knowledge from this program, coupled with innovation, has led to further successful locally developed capabilities in security, unmanned systems and mixed reality. 

Using the same high-level systems engineering experience gained on the CMS program, we have developed systems that protect people and civil infrastructure in Defence bases, detention centres, high-security prisons, remand centres and hospitals across Australia. Saab Australia is now a global product leader in security management, including our OneView™ integrated security solution for facilities and public spaces, and mixed reality technologies, including battlespace and mine visualisation, training and product display. We export to Canada, New Zealand, Thailand, Sweden and the United Kingdom. 

Headquartered in Adelaide, Saab Australia has more than 800 employees based at sites across four states and the Australian Capital Territory. Saab Australia is led by an experienced local leadership team headed by Managing Director, Andy Keough. The Senior Leadership Team oversees six lines of business; Autonomous Systems, Civil, Land and Aerospace, Deployable Health and Infrastructure, Maritime, and Submarines, which are supported by corporate functions covering commercial, communications, government relations, engineering, facilities, human resources, legal, operations and security.
