TAFE SA is South Australia’s largest vocational education and training (VET) provider and one of the largest in Australia. It is also a registered higher education provider.

More than one million students have studied with us since we were established in 1971. 

Each year, we accept more than 68,000 student enrolments and deliver training at over 290 locations right across South Australia. 

Our courses cover more than 80 areas of industry and activity, with flexible delivery options that suit the needs of our students.

Studying at TAFE SA gets results
The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) Student Outcomes Survey findings in 2019 showed 88% of graduates find jobs or continue studying, and 85% are satisfied with the overall quality of training.

Quality Assurance 

Our status as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and Higher Education Provider (HEP) is managed through the National Regulators, Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). 

It is a requirement of registration with ASQA and TEQSA that TAFE SA demonstrates ongoing compliance with all requirements of the VET Quality Framework and the Higher Education Standards Framework. Compliance is assessed though regular audits.

ASQA has awarded TAFE SA re-registration as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider for a period of seven years, following implementation of extensive quality improvements across the organisation.

It is the first time that we have received this length of registration from ASQA.

As TAFE SA is also a Higher Education Provider, its CRICOS registration is also regulated by TEQSA. 

TEQSA has also renewed TAFE SA’s registration on CRICOS for seven years.
