From the 4th to the 7th of April, South Australia will proudly host the second ‘Gather Round’ football extravaganza. Nine games will be played between Adelaide Oval and Norwood Oval, a stone’s throw from the city, as well as at Mount Barker Oval, amidst the rolling Adelaide hills.

Last year, hotels, bars and restaurants were bustling with football enthusiasts as $55.7 million was injected into the South Australian economy by interstate attendees. An additional $2 million was contributed to rural Mount Braker amid a singular match, demonstrating the monumental economic impact of the round.

This unique opportunity will act as a metaphoric trojan horse for South Australian hospitality businesses – introducing those visiting SA to our unsung culinary expertise and world-class vintners, from our very own CBD, eastern suburbs, and rural townships.

The 3-year partnership between the South Australian Government and the AFL will be instrumental in perpetual support for local clubs through the establishment of a community football legacy fund.
