About our speakers:

Hon. Clare Scriven MLC is the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development and Minister for Forest Industries. Previously State Manager of the Australian Forest Products Association, Clare is passionate about the importance of the industry to the South Australian economy and committed to regional development, social & economic inclusion, improving educational opportunities and supporting small business. As well as private sector roles in forestry and human resources, Clare has many years’ experience in government policy and service delivery. Clare is inspired by her passion for the community to represent the state in the Legislative Council, with a special focus on the Limestone Coast.

Lukina Lukin is the Owner and Managing Director of Dinko Tuna, one of Australia’s most lucrative southern bluefin tuna industries. Across the last decade Lukina and her staff have transformed the company, entering new geographic markets, creating new products and introducing progressive practices. In 2019, Lukina identified an opportunity to snap freeze tuna portions with liquid nitrogen. This presented opportunities for both the home, retail, catering and restaurant trade to unpack and serve a fresh tuna product. This technology was made available to other tuna fish operators to benefit from. In maintaining her innovative thinking, Lukina is also trialling a new abalone farm and using seaweed to minimise the business’s carbon footprint.
